The Center on Human Policy had two projects that promoted inclusion and membership on decision-making bodies, both funded by the New York State Developmental Disabilities Planning Council.

• On Board was a collaborative effort of people with developmental disabilities and other disabilities, local agencies, and organizations in the Central New York area to promote the membership of people with disabilities on decision-making bodies (boards and committees) of local agency boards, community groups, and congregations.

• Technical Assistance and Resource Center (TARC) was an initiative that worked with seven selected projects throughout New York State to promote the inclusion of people with developmental disabilities on organization boards of directors and decision-making committees. TARC provided technical assistance, resource support, and oversight to the seven projects. TARC completed a report on promising practices that is available:
