Second: Remember, there are several types of models and options. Some providers join as a team and work intimately every day with a group of children with and without disabilities. Some children receive special services from a therapist in a child care setting. Some children and child care settings are visited a few times a week by a consultant teacher. Some children attend a special education program for part of their week and join a typical early childhood program for the remainder.
Third: Talk with your staff so that they can be part of the planning from the beginning. You should be prepared to discuss any misgivings or fears. This book can help and so can others in your community.
