State Legislative Platform for the Year 2009

Historically, individuals with disabilities have been placed on the back burner. We feel it's our time our needs were given the serious and overdue consideration they merit. We urge the Florida legislature to provide better funding, choice, and availability in the following service areas:

  • Housing and Support Services--expan housing assistance programs, group homes, supported living, better nursing homes, accessible and affordable housing
  • Health Care--expansion in public and private health care coverage
  • Employment--work incentives, training, and education
  • Transportation--reliable, inexpensive, expand travelling between counties
  • Guardianship--appropriate free guardianship services, free legal services, more public and agency guardianship programs

"BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE, WE ARE THE PEOPLE."

  • WE ARE:
  • FLORIDA CITIZENS AND VOTERS
  • AN ORGANIZED NATIONAL AND STATE MOVEMENT
