My Classic Life as an Artist: A Portrait of Larry Bissonnette

Larry Bissonnette – Shifts and Changes in My Life

Larry seriously overpowered his parents early on in unusual ways losing control, keying in on aloneness instead of socialization, learning mostly odd preacher-like speech and role playing popular TV personality behavior, chipper on the outside but ensnared with tension on the inside.

Special learning, ordered environment was worked out for me and I practiced really little learning except for doing art. Leaving institutional life for family life mobilized my ascent into the land of people living regular lives and let me open up my art making to more lucrative ways.

It’s ever so easy to paper walls with ambitious words but the real difference in clearing Larry’s needs has been the wonderful, caring, less worried about Larry’s weirdnesses and more attuned to his potential, people who support him everyday.
