Self-Advocacy is...

• Standing up for your principles and helping others do the same

• A group that works for and by the people

What Do We Want?

• To live, work, learn and play alongside people without disabilities

• To end discrimination against people who happen to have disabilities

What Have We Done?

• Joined forces with various coalitions

• Attended national and state conferences

• Hosted luncheons with lawmakers

• Sponsored annual conferences on self-advocacy

• Made presentations at various events

• Recently starting writing to other people with disabilities all over the world through ICQ chats

How Do We Do It?

• We hold monthly meetings to discuss common issues and concerns

• With the use of technoogy we have been able to deliver better services

• We sponsor fundraisers

• We plan conferences, luncheons, and other events for our members and the community

• We have built a positive character within our community

• We believe in ourselves!
